Guitar Repair and Service Terms and Conditions
Koivisto Guitars & Repair aim to deliver professional and high quality service to all our customers. The service and repair Terms and Condition are subject to change at any time.
- Acceptance of Terms
By submitting your guitar for repair, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined herein. These terms are binding for all setup, maintenance & repair services rendered by Koivisto Guitars & Repair. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from submitting your guitar for repair. - Repair Authorization
By leaving the instrument to the workshop and accepting the quote, the customer authorizes Koivisto Guitars & Repair to commence work. - Drop off and Collection
- All instruments are to be brought to and collected from the workshop unless otherwise agreed.
- If the instrument is sent by courier when agreed, the shipping and the packing charges are paid by the customer. The instrument is to be properly packed and must include the customer details and description of the repair needed. We are not liable for any damage to the instrument by the courier.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring their guitar is free of any personal items (e.g., straps, picks, cables) before drop-off.
- Koivisto Guitars & Repair is not liable for loss or damage to personal items left on the instrument.
- All instruments must be brought in inside a suitable hard or soft case for protection in our workshop. We are not liable for any damage to the instruments without a case.
- When the work is finished we inform the customer by phone, text message or email and arrange a convenient time (for both parties) for the collection.
- If an instrument is not picked up within [30] days after the repair is completed, unless otherwise agreed, a storage fee of [£5] per day will apply.
- Due to the very limited storage space at the workshop, unless otherwise agreed, any instruments not paid for and collected within three (3) calendar months will be disposed or sold to cover the costs.
- The customer must inform us in writing if their contact details change.
- Repair Estimates & Fees
- A non-refundable diagnostic fee may apply if any disassembly of parts is required during inspection. This fee will be deducted from the final bill if the customer authorizes the repair.
- An estimate will be provided for any work before proceeding. If unforeseen issues arise during repair, we will notify you and request approval for additional costs.
- All repair estimates are based on initial inspection. The actual cost may differ if more issues are found after the initial inspection or during the work. We will inform the customer before proceeding further.
- If the customer decides not to proceed with the repair after the estimate is provided, any diagnostic fees and labor charges for partial work completed may still apply.
- A deposit towards parts or work might be requested before any work is to be commenced.
- Warranty
- All repair work comes with a one (1) month warranty on materials and labor. Warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials but does not apply to damages caused by misuse, accidents, or improper care.
- Parts sourced by Koivisto Guitars and Repair are under manufacturer’s warranty. Parts supplied by the customer are not guaranteed.
- If an issue arises with the repair, please contact us within the warranty period for assessment. Unauthorized repairs or alterations will void the warranty.
- Turnover Time
- Repair timelines are estimates and may vary depending on parts availability, workload, and complexity of the repair.
- We will notify you in case of any significant delays.
- Parts and Materials
- All parts used in repairs will be discussed with the customer prior to installation. We will always strive to use high-quality parts that are suitable for your instrument.
- If a part is unavailable, we will contact you with an alternative solution or advise on the estimated delivery time for backordered parts.
- A deposit towards higher cost parts might be requested before any work is to be commenced.
- Payment
- Full payment is due upon completion of the repair, prior to instrument release.
- We accept payment by cash or credit/bank card.
- Liability
- Koivisto Guitars & Repair will exercise the utmost care in handling and repairing your instrument, we are not liable for damage to the instrument due to unforeseen circumstances such as hidden defects or issues arising during the repair process.
- In a rare instance of loss or damage, liability will be limited to the current value of the instrument.
- We are not responsible for any loss of value of the instrument regarding to the modifications authorized by the customer
- Cancellations
- If you decide to cancel the repair, you must inform us within 2 hours of submitting your instrument for repair. Any diagnostic or disassembly fees already incurred will be payable.
- Privacy
We value your privacy. The information provided during the repair process will be used solely for the purpose of completing the requested services. We will not share your information with third parties without your consent.
